Shop For Florian 701 Pruner without holster

I bought this tool, which is shipped directly from the manufacturer. It's a nice enough tool, although I do wonder how long the nylon construction will last. I did not get any sort of guarantee with the tool, although the product info in the Amazon.com listing suggests that there is some sort of guarantee (it says "Counterfeit hand pruners do not have the quality nor the guarantee of our patented original pruner"). The tool is expensive enough to start, but the shipping cost of $9.25 is outrageous. The pruner came to me in a small bubble wrap envelope--the kind you can get for 50 cents if you buy a pack of them. The actual postage for first-class shipping from Florian (in Connecticut) to me in Minnesota was $1.90. There was no box or any sort of packaging for the tool; it was just in the bubble bag. I don't care about that, although an insert with some sort of guarantee would have been nice. But to jack up the shipping that much is ridiculous, especially since the tool was shipped directly from the manufacturer (which means they aren't losing 50% of the sale price to a re-seller).

The bottom line is, when I buy a something directly from the manufacturer, I know that they are making twice as much as if I'd bought it from a re-seller; and to have them also charge extremely high shipping makes me mad. I wish I had thought this through when I saw what the shipping charge would be at the time I ordered... the total was a bit over $40. That is one expensive tool. By the way, I did e-mail the manufacturer directly through their website to register my dissatisfaction with the shipping cost; as of this writing (about 2 weeks later), they have not bothered to respond.Get more detail about Florian 701 Pruner without holster.
